Lino & Maverick's 7th Party!

Lino and Maverick turned seven this month.

We had a few friends over to the shop.

We had a couple of pinatas.

Shannon made a great cake, and Strider blew Maverick's candles out the first time, so we had to re-do the candles a time or two.

I took close to a hundred pictures. Too many to post and others too scary to post. You can thank me later.

Thanks to all who came and celebrated with us!

Telegraph!

I have a friend (Michelle) who has tried to get me to hike Telegraph for years and years (before it was trendy). I have denied her and many others over and over. It all just fell into place for me to go one night with some friends/co-workers. No regrets, and I hope to do it again before it heats up. The problem with me is, I refuse to wake up early on the weekends just to exercize. We hiked on a Friday evening when date night could not happen. Like I said. It just all worked out.

I took Mallory with me. There were four kids, a dog, a husband, and four crazy teachers. Most of us made it to the top. Some of us made it to the top twice. I was not in the mix. A few of us hung out at "The Boulder" and waited. HAHAHAHA!

I'm still impressed with myself. We were about 20 minutes from the top, but I would have had to finish it out at a snail's pace, and it was a race against the sun/moon. Night was upon us by the end.

I wasn't going to post pictures, but I figure one day I'll look back and think, "Wow, I looked so young!"

Thank you to Kaste, Worley, and Heras!

Mom & Dad

This is how I want to always remember my parents. They live to dance together.

Thanks for the picture text, Edna.

My Favorite Beast!

With the move of the Jared Lemmon clan, means the loss of my favorite beast. Brutus is heading to the north country this weekend. I get to have him for his last few days here in the wild west. He's a little camera shy, but don't let that fool you. He's gorgeous.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!

Jared is taking his family to Washington. We will miss them greatly. We have been spoiled having so many cousins around for so many years. We will miss Naomi and Lexi. Patty and Tom hosted a goodbye/birthday party for their family. Lexi will turn three this month.

I took pictures until the battery died. Unreal. I'm getting more and more like my mother every day.

Horse Show!

This is Sydney's last show as a junior showman with the exception of the fair. Next year will mean some big changes for her and her partner Katy Be A Lady.

Katy tripped in the ring and went to the ground, but Sydney stuck things out so graceful and quiet. She made me proud. Katy is fine, thank goodness.

Both Elana and Syd did well this show. Lots of purple ribbons! I took tons of pictures but made myself narrow things down.

Mr. Roboto!

First grade at Mesquite always has a robot family project. We use the word "family" loosely for these types of projects. We all get to put our input in, and we get asked what we think about this or that, but for the most part Bobby runs with the assignment. The best part is how he dreads it all week long and drags his feet, and then the night before he becomes this creative machine. I guess I'm not the only one who works best under pressure. I was going to take pictures of the actual creating of the robot, but Strider was more into it than Maverick.

When I was in sixth grade, we had to write a poem about space flight. I went to my dad for help. He is quite a poet. He told me to write anything down I knew about space flight, and he would then help me. I came in with a few little sixth grade ideas written down, and that was the last we spoke of it. The next morning, I woke up to a beautiful poem called "The Last Frontier Known As Space" by Sabra. Typical sixth grade title, right?

Ahhhh, yes...Family Projects...

Watch out second grade pirate ship project!!!
