Christmas for Grandma

Katie, Mom, Dad, Sydney, Mallory, and I decided we had to decorate Grandma Evelyn's house for Christmas and put up a tree (December 7). Dad brought in a live tree, and I had forgotten how wonderful they smell and feel. Grandma fed us lunch when we finished. I think Grandma enjoyed the surprise, but I think I enjoyed it more. Isn't that how acts of service usually go?

New Table

Bobby made this table (legs by Uncle Phill), and it took many men and piano dollies to get it into the house. We love it. Now, I'm on the hunt for chairs and new light fixtures.

Makeover

Aunt Vickie gave us a bedroom set, and we, of course, had to add our touches to it. Thank you, Aunt Vickie! Ethan Allen never looked so good.

This is How we Roll!

I'm loving our new pup. I think Bobby surprised me(July 29)with her to get my mind off wanting another baby. I'll take it!

Berryman Girls' Weekend

We were invited to Joyce and Phill's cabin in Flag for an all girls' weekend in November. It was too much fun. We cooked, canned, cleaned, shopped, ate, played, quilted, and I even got my feet done by Auntie Carol. I'm looking forward to many more weekends just like it (hint hint).

Buddy's Basketball Season

We always have so much fun watching Buddy play ball. He loves it, and you can tell. He had a great season with his team the Wildcats. We will miss Coach Ben. We have been with him for two years, but we are moving on up.

Permitted to Drive

In October Sydney took her permit test and passed! We'll see if she drives more like her mom or her dad.

A Good Cry

It happened today. I had a good cry. I can't remember the last time I cried. This cry was a little different. I cried out of gratitude. I didn't cry for loss or fear. I remember a time when I had no more tears to cry. Today, I cried out of relief and blessings.

This parenting trip is so scary at times. I find myself second guessing my/our decisions more often than ever. I never thought I'd cry out of happiness and relief, but today was the day. I felt it was blogworthy.

Thank you, family.

Thank you, friends.

Thank you, God!

Some Years More Than Others

It's here again. September 5. It comes once a year, and it's been here 10 times for me now. It's a solemn...almost sacred day for Bobby and I.
We always talk about it. Some years more than others. This year very little, so far. It's still early.
Tears are still shed. Some years more than others for that, too.
It's a lonely day. Some years more than others.
One thing that is constant from year to year is that we miss our babe and believe in forever families.
