Follow Up To Sayings!

I don't mind the sayings so much. What I was trying to say it that sometimes the sayings are used when actions should be used. Rather than telling me you have been there and done that when I complain about teaching and being sick, there could be an offer of any assistance. Maybe, when you see a mother struggling with her child in the hall at church or the isle of the grocery store, you could lend a hand rather than laugh and say, "Been there done that."

I have used these phrases. These were just some thoughts I was having. I'm trying to DO better. I did not mean to criticize.

P.S. I do not use seat covers.

I know you dont use seat covers my friend- I just was referring to a ticked off Tuesday post you had that talked about people using T-shirts as seat covers. I thought it was hilarious. ;)

Sabra I just want you to know that to this day every time I look at a digital clock and it reads 11:11 I think of you! 11:11! 11:11! My life has really never been the same since meeting you oh so long ago. Oh how I miss you!

I agree, and admit my own guilt in overusings these sayings. Sometimes, I am just trying to fill the silence, but perhaps I should just accept the silence! However, to a sixth grader I would be tempted to say "Oh really, do tell", because I doubt they have genuinely "been there, and done that", and don't really know when "it is what it is".
