Pizza Night

Every Wednesday is pizza night in our home. Buddy is notorious for falling asleep at the most random times in the most random places. I have a little collection going of odd spots we've found him. I thought I would just post tonight's though.

Flowers!

Joan sent me flowers today! I was having a rough day, and she made it a little better. Thank you, Just Joan!

Jerry The Bull

These are some pictures for Jared. I thought he'd appreciate it! We are proud of you SPECIAL AGENT LEMMON!

In Awe!

Just about everything Strider does amazes me. The fact that he is alive and in my house is a daily jaw dropper! There are several side effects to what he went through the first seven+ weeks of life. One doctor told us, "He won't be the brightest bulb on the porch." We were told to prepare for many potential troubles such as cerebral palsy and other muscular problems, learning disabilities, verbal delays, hearing loss, eye problems, asthma. We will always have to watch him for pneumonia and other illnesses with the lungs. But a very common side effect of children who have been on ECMO suffer from eating disorders. They just don't eat for several reasons. It's something we were warned about, and we were taught a few things/tricks by therapists in the hospital to help introduce him to foods and to teach/coach him to eat. I had to post a picture of this kid at lunch today! He is our child! He loves to eat! No problems in the food department. This little lunch consisted of four nuggets, a large amount of angel hair pasta in a white sauce, a cheese stick, and an entire cup of Mandarin oranges.

Perfect!

Katie sent me this card in the mail, and I thought it captured things pretty accurately. Thank you, Kat! You always send great ones! The inside reads, "And still it wasn't enough." (Note the stacked hair!)

Tiny!

Our tiny miracle is one year old today! I just had to post a picture or two, so everyone could see how far he's come! We didn't know what his future would hold when he was finally able to come home, but he's doing well (so far so good). No complaints. He's quiet, laid back, soft spoken, patient, and a good sport. Nice change.

Bookshelf!

Several friends have asked me for some book recommendations lately. I saw this awesome little widget on the Thompson's blog. I adopted it! I had to keep it down to the chosen few due to space, but I think this is a great start and sums up my taste quite well. Check out my Shelfari bookshelf to the right!

Sisters' Retreat

Katie, Kelly, Joan, and I just spent two nights and three shopping filled days in San Diego! It was our first (hopefully annual) Sisters' Retreat! I had a great time, and I hope they did as well. We shopped and ate a ton. We saw P.S. I Love You and cried, and cried, and cried! PF Changs and the movie was my favorite part of the weekend, but I do have to say we played some mean Rummikub and Kings' Corners. I earned no bragging rights this year. Maybe next time. I wasn't feeling my best this trip (excuse)! Boo Ya', Sisters! We love ya's!

Quilt

I thought the quilt needed one more spot on the blog and without being overshadowed by beautiful girls! Nic gave me this quilt before she moved to Prescott. I think I gave her a juicer and a book. I'm lame!

Mangum Mania

We rang in the new year with the Mangum family! My most prized material possession is (besides Sealy, of course) this quilt Nicole created for me made of Amy Butler fabrics! I took a picture of our ladies warming up with it, and Frank had to jump in!
