My most favorite place to visit is Prescott, Arizona, and some of my most favorite folks live there. We decided at the very last possible minute to head up for one night.
I took very few pictures, but I had to post a couple from our "camping breakfast" at the lake.

Piano!
Mallory and Sydney just had their piano recital for this year. I'm proud of them and their progress. Sydney surprised her dad with a song from "Lord of the Rings."
Mallory played in her school talent show, as well.Thank you, Edna, for a wonderful year and an awesome recital.

Kinder Grad!
Maverick graduated from kindergarten today. I'm very pleased with his year and owe so much to his caring and kind teachers.

FFA Honor!
My grandmother was honored at the San Pasqual FFA banquet last night. I was honored to attend. Heck, I was honored to be invited. I usually feel so out of the loop.
This was the first FFA function I've attended since I was a state officer oh so many years ago...about twenty (hurts to write it). The event was wonderful, and my grandmother was as beautiful and gracious as ever.
One day very soon I will write a post about Evelyn Berryman. Prepare for your mind to be blown. She is quite a lady.

C!
Sydney is an honor student who pretty much achieves solid A's throughout the year. She might get a B here or there, so when she came home the other day and told me she was getting a C in her foods class, I was baffled.
Well, I guess she missed one day of school, and this one day happened to be a lab day.
The only way to bring her grade up was to make deviled eggs at home and bring the teacher a sample.
Have I mentioned the teacher is my mother?!

MY Day!
I had a wonderful and relaxing Mother's Day (minus church). I took a four hour nap and ate great food that Bob made...not me. Food, sleep, and a good book pretty much make the perfect day for me. Easy to please.
I took a couple of photos. Nothing too great, but they have great meaning to me.
Pictured is a note Maverick wrote for me completely on his own. He is phonetically spelling/writing, and this brings me great joy as a reading specialist. He is well on his way to a whole, new world. I'm so proud of him and his hard work this kindergarten year. I wasn't sure how he'd do based on his energy level, but he has proven to be intelligent...just busy. I owe his teachers a special thank you.
Below is pictured Strider and I at Hand In Hand's Mother's Day Tea. It's the most special event of the year, and this was my seventh one. Knowing I may only have one more to attend made me a little sad. My babies are growing up.
One last thing:
Bob had the family go around the circle and say one thing they loved about their mom. Everyone's answers were sweet and cute, and they went around more than once, but this was my favorite.
Syd, "I love Mom's laugh...It's really loud."

Easter!
I absolutely love Easter. I know I say this every year, but it's true every year, so I have to say it.
What's not to love about it? We celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and eat candy while wearing new clothes. I sound shallow, but I'm serious. It's just a beautiful day all around. Church, baskets, dress clothes, egg hunts, dinner with friends and family...Perfect day.

Lucky Number 13!
Syd turned 13 on April 20th. She had a great day followed by an awesome weekend. She was spoiled by both friends and family. We hosted a sleepover in her honor and had about 14 girls in attendance.
Yes, I survived, and the house is still standing.

Foods!
Sydney is taking foods class at school. It's actually called something else now. It's a much fancier name, but I'm not sure what it is.
In class a few weeks ago they learned to make cream of wheat. The teacher told them if they made it at home and took a photo they would earn extra credit.
Well, here's the photo. Too bad Sydney didn't care to eat the cream of wheat!
Did I mention her teacher is also her grandmother?!
Note to teacher: Can part of the extra credit include cleaning the cooking mess up at home?
