Family Vacation!

Sydney was one the last time we went on a family vacation. Just about ten years later we were offered a share of my grandpa's timeshare, so we jumped on the opportunity. We had a beautiful place to stay right on the beach in Oceanside. I had grandious ideas of how great this vacation was going to be. It was great, but it was no "vacation." Nobody warned me until it was too late! I associate the word "vacation" with rest and relaxation. There was none of that on this trip! I've decided we need to come up with another word/term/phrase for "family vacation." Ideas?

LOL....I'm sure you came back feeling like a vacation!!! I think it's just cause of little kids, right? I had to remind Paul last summer that vacations were no longer meant for us. They are now meant for our children. In about 20 years we'll get to go on vacation! Did you finish?

It's not vacation...it's "self inflicted torture!" You would think we would learn...but no...every summer we plan some ridiculous 2 week vacation...I'm with Ericka...in 20 years we can go on VACATION!

We took a vacation this week, it was only two days long and so fun, but I have to say if I ad little ones, it would have been super stressful by the ocean an dall worrying about them drowning or being kidnapped or something, so this will probably be our last stress free vacation for years, since hopefully by next summer we will start Devey family part 2. I can't believe how grown up Mall looks now, she has changed a lot since I saw her last.

one word:
BABYSITTER

It's the only way I can "semi" enjoy myself and don't feel left alone when matt bails to do his fun stuff.

I would choose a family vacation over camping though any day. All camping is is work! When you go camping you spend the whole time tying to make everything like it is at home. And then you clean it all up and go home. At least with a family vacation your not building your own toilet! I think that family vacations are a lot of work but it could be worst! Anything with the word FAMILY in it is WORK!

The first "vacation" we went on with kids I brought books and magazines and visioned laying on the beach reading under an umbrella. HA! just like you said, no relaxation there. actually harder than being home I think.
